For those of you who know me, hi again — and for those of you who don’t, it’s so nice to meet you. My name is Emma Simas, and I am a second-year Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) student at Montclair State University. I am reaching out because I have the incredible opportunity to join my university’s humanitarian mission trip to Dominica in May 2026, and I am fundraising to help make this experience possible.
Humanitarian work has been a deeply meaningful part of my life. I previously served with Mustard Seed Communities in Jamaica, and those experiences changed me forever. They are the reason I chose to pursue audiology in the first place. This upcoming trip will be the first time I can return to service with my chosen profession in hand, using my clinical knowledge to help provide hearing care to communities with limited access. My passion lies in pediatric audiology, particularly working with children with developmental delays and autism spectrum disorder. Being able to bring these skills to a global mission setting is truly a dream come true.
Your support—whether through donations or by sharing this page—directly helps me provide essential hearing care to children and families who need it most. This trip isn’t just a learning experience; it’s a chance to make a real and lasting impact in a community with limited access to audiological services.
If you’re able, please consider contributing to my mission. Every single donation, no matter the size, brings me one step closer to serving the people of Dominica with the compassion, knowledge, and care they deserve. Thank you so much for helping me pursue this work and for believing in the difference we can make together.
