Emma 's Medical Expenses

Hi Everyone,

For those who don’t know me, my name is Jackie, and I’m organizing this Go Fund Me for my niece Emma.

When Emma was two, my sister noticed Emma’s chest was disproportion, and her knees seemed to be giving her issues while walking. Getting a diagnosis was a challenge because Emma’s condition was rare! In 2016, after many prayers and a great group of doctors, Emma was diagnosed with Morquio A . Morquio syndrome is a rare genetic condition that affects a child's bones, spine, organs and physical abilities.

Flash-forward today, Emma receives weekly enzyme therapy replacement in hopes of having a better quality of life as there is no cure for Morquio. She is the strongest person I know and doesn’t allow her condition to bring her down. Emma loves drawing, singing and dancing. She is a huge Bad Bunny Fan!

Unfortunately, this past year has been difficult for our Emma. She underwent growth-plate knee surgery on both knees, and recovery hasn't been easy. Emma is required to get physical therapy, as well as a pediatric wheelchair however, the insurance company is giving my sister a hard time covering cost. My sister is doing her best to provide for Emma as a single Mom.

Please, help fund the costs of a specialized wheelchair and physical therapy not covered by insurance. Any amount helps.
