Help Emma raise funds to get to Rwanda
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Emma and I am a 19 year old student with a passion for cricket. I currently play cricket for Hursley Park CC and coach U9s and W10 at Fair Oak CC. Growing up I have been part of the Vipers Champions programme which has enabled me to get my coaching, scoring and umpiring qualifications. Since I have been fortunate enough to be given these opportunities I would like to give back and share my passion and love for the sport.
In February 2025 I am going to Rwanda as part of a volunteer group of players and parents to support the Indatwa Cricket Academy. This is through a charity called Cricket Without Boundaries. I am fundraising to cover the cost of my trip to enable me to provide cricket coaching as part of the volunteer programme.
“Cricket Without Boundaries works with partners around the world to grow the game of cricket, while using the sport as a platform for health education and social change. It is run almost entirely by the dedication and enthusiasm of its volunteers. Founded in 2005, CWB is one of the world's leading cricket development charities.”
As well as providing cricket coaching our group will also be providing the following help locally;
- English as a foreign language
- Health education in Ndera and at the Meg Foundation
- Supporting infrastructure - painting, maintenance, mushroom farm; sewing and possibly helping erect nets and building an outbuilding for the compostable toilets
If I am fortunate enough to raise more than my anticipated target then any additional funds will be used to buy items on their wish list before I go to be able to take out with us.
