Meet Emma Kate: Fighting IBD With Courage, Sass, and an Unbreakable Spirit
At just 20 years old, Emma Kate has already faced more hospital rooms, IV lines, and sleepless nights than most people do in a lifetime.
She’s been battling Ulcerative Colitis (a severe form of Inflammatory Bowel Disease) and IBS for 12 long years, a fight that’s tested every ounce of her strength.
Right now, Emma Kate is in one of her toughest chapters yet.
Her medications keep failing, her anemia is relentless, and she’s exhausted from the constant fatigue, pain, and uncertainty that come with endless bloodwork, scopes, and upcoming procedures. All of this has impacted her ability to work and her mental health is at an all time low.
Still she smiles.
Still she dreams.
Still she gives back.
Even when her body is in survival mode, Emma Kate is thinking about others. She’s passionate about raising awareness for IBD, supporting the Gutsy Walk, and helping others through Camp Got2Go, where youth with IBD can just be kids for a while.
She used to be an athlete fierce, competitive, and full of energy. Now, she channels that same fire into fighting her illness and chasing her dreams at university.
Emma Kate is an honor student, a helper, a fighter, and a bright light for everyone who meets her. But behind her brave smile are real battles the kind you can’t always see.
This GoFundMe will help Emma Kate continue her studies, support her medical needs, and let her keep doing what she loves: giving back, even when life keeps knocking her down.
If you’ve ever been inspired by someone who refuses to give up, this is your moment to lift them up.
Donate. Share. Spread the word.
Let’s show Emma Kate that her courage matters — and that she’s not fighting alone.
