Emma Ann Weaver, until the age of five months, thrived in the love of her daddy, Matthew Weaver. On July 15, 2019, Matthew, along with his brother and father, was tragically killed in a plane crash while on a fishing trip in a remote area of Labrador, Canada.
To know Emma’s young life, we go back a few years before her birth on February 1, 2019. Matthew received his BA in Management from Purdue and his Executive MBA from the University of Notre Dame and was actively employed in a job he loved. Almost exactly 5 years ago, he married the love of his life, Anne. Matthew envisioned a bright future with his wife and not long after the wedding, they started planning the arrival of their first child, a daughter they named Emma Ann. He absolutely LOVED Emma and would send photos and videos of him rocking, feeding, playing with and tickling Emma to his friends and family daily. In her five short months, Emma bonded with her daddy over lullabies and storytime. Giggles and big smiles were among her many milestones. She was thriving and her favorite thing to do with her daddy was to listen to his voice as he read to her.
Matt’s life was taken too soon. This Go Fund Me campaign is in loving memory of Matthew Weaver and created for Emma Ann, the light of his life. Matthew was a son, brother, nephew, cousin, and uncle. He was a friend to many. His most cherished role was that of husband and loving father. So many have asked how to help. Several strongly suggested this as a way to a way to honor his love for his daughter.
Emma Ann, who will only know her daddy from the treasured memories shared by her mother and the countless stories from all that knew and loved Matthew, will miss building upon the already created bond between a father and daughter. Emma no longer has her daddy as a provider and protector. She can have, and benefit, however, from the generosity of family, friends, and other supporters who come into contact with this campaign. As this tragic event, which took the lives of three great men from one family has taught us, we do not know what tomorrow may bring or what challenges Emma may face over the years without her beloved daddy as she learns to walk, rides a tricycle, attends her first day of school, goes to prom and eventually walks down the aisle. We strive to help Emma face whatever may arise.
Donations will be put to good use, and hopefully, with a met goal, will provide support for her future.
Your heartfelt generosity and love is much appreciated.
