Emily's 2019 Medical Mission
Donation protected
This coming March 2018, I will be volunteering with a nonprofit NGO to provide medical care to those in Haiti who would otherwise not have access. Our group will travel from town to town in a mobile health van with a mix of healthcare providers tending to the medical needs of the adults and children with whom we come into contact.
The funds that I am able to raise through this site will help me to purchase many of the items on a "much-needed" list, including: antibiotics, blood pressure medications, antifungals, blood glucose machines and strips, urine analysis test strips, over the counter medications, and many other healthcare-related products that are difficult to obtain by the poverty-stricken people living in the towns that I will be visiting while in Haiti.
While I have always wanted to participate in a medical mission, I never was able to do so in the past due to time constraints. But, my opportunity has finally come, and now I am so grateful to be able to share my excitement with you as my friends and supporters on this journey!
Thank you so much for donating to my cause and helping me on my medical mission to care for those in need!
EDITED TO ADD: As crazy as it might sound, I've also signed up to volunteer for a second medical mission this coming March 2018-- this one to Guatemala. While I have always had the desire and the passion, I now have the time, and I am going to maximize on it as much as possible!
In Guatemala, I will be providing medical care in rural health clinics where again, local impoverished people have very limited access to medical care and medications. Through this fundraiser I will be able to purchase much-needed medications and supplies to bring along with me abroad and be able to distribute to those in need.
Thank you all so much for your support!
