EMERGENCY RELIEF FOR NEPAL

A Message from the Louisiana Himalaya Association (LHA)

As you've seen in the news, a devastating disaster struck the Himalayan region of Nepal in late August 2026. Many people were killed or severely wounded and whole communities lost everything. Over 4,000 people are still missing. Many children are now without parents. We are now in communication with first-responder partners on the ground in Nepal and invite you to offer your support.

In a similar crisis after the Nepal earthquake in 2015, LHA teamed up with the Association for International Solidarity in Asia (ASIA) NGO to provide emergency services and raised $53,000 for basic needs supplies and roofing metal for temporary, then permanent shelter during monsoon season. Once again, we're supporting ASIA and modeling our relief efforts on that combined experience and collaboration.

Support is critical now to meet basic needs. Your kindness will determine how much and what kind of help we can provide. As with the earthquake, initial donations go to first responder services: food, water, hygiene, medical supplies.
