Emergency Childcare Relief for Hospital Staff

Childcare for the nurses and healthcare workers on the frontlines is an urgent problem. That’s why I’m raising funds to create an essential community childcare center providing free, temporary drop-off childcare for Essential Hospital Staff. “Desperate for care,” said the Caregiver Wellbeing Consultant at Providence St. Joseph's in Burbank when I called to understand their childcare needs. I heard the same from a Doctor friend at Mt. Sinai in NY. I hung up the phone committed to taking action in whatever way possible; it is my hope that you can too.
Though being at home with their children is what most working parents are experiencing, for the healthcare workers, their challenges are the opposite. Their child is at home but they cannot be; they’re working 12-hour shifts, covered in Personal Protection Equipment until they scar, helping our communities heal. The cost to their emotional and financial health is too high. But we as a community can give back and come together to do something!
My company, Ahmni Co. is a holistic childcare solution for corporate America, custom creating and managing onsite infant care and adjacent wellness space for new parents who can return gently back to work with baby. This employer-sponsored wellness benefit is more important than ever in a pandemic — and post-pandemic — workplace.
In response to the Covid-19 crisis, we are utilizing our expertise and resources at this time to create FREE, TEMPORARY DROP-OFF CARE for well children 3 mos. - 10 years old, of local Essential Medical Workers and hospital staff.
In partnership with Peerspace, an online event booking marketplace, Ahmni Co. has secured a safe location close to a local hospital with a vetted, CPR-certified and tested staff. We are working with the Department of Social Services to meet all safety, space and sanitary requirements as it relates to Covid-19.
Your thoughtful donation is necessary to cover the cost of operations for an Emergency Childcare Relief center, which will not only underwrite free childcare for our healthcare heroes but provide opportunities for our childcare workers, who like many, are struggling.
