Hello everyone,
Northeast Community Integration (NCI) is reaching out once again to ask for your support in an urgent situation affecting one of our community members.
Our beloved sister, Maria Lutina — also known to many as Marlene — has been facing serious mental health challenges for quite some time. Sadly, she is here in the United States alone, without close family nearby to support her during this difficult period.
Due to her situation, Maria is currently experiencing homelessness. With the severe winter weather, she is literally living on the streets, which places her in a very vulnerable and dangerous situation.
After speaking with Maria and her family in Angola, we learned they have asked for our help to bring her home safely, where she can receive the care, support, and stability she needs from her loved ones.
Given her current condition and the fact that she is without shelter, waiting for a formal self-deportation process is not a safe option. For this reason, we are asking for your support to help us purchase a flight ticket so she can return to Angola as soon as possible.
Our goal is to raise enough funds to secure her ticket and arrange for her travel by the end of March at the latest.
Any contribution, no matter the amount, will bring Maria one step closer to safety, dignity, and the support of her family. If you are unable to donate, sharing this message with others would also mean a great deal.
Thank you for standing with our community and helping us support one of our own in her time of need.
