Hi all -- we're raising funds for a fixture of the Providence community: a tenants rights organizer, a tireless advocate, and a loving parent to four children. They have organized food distros, cooked meals, and connected with local Providence families in need. They are a vital member of the mutual aid networks here. They also support their family outside of the States.

They've been dealing with a cycle of slumlords for a long time now. They've previously faced retaliation through eviction proceedings for bringing up pest infestations, water damage, broken windows, and other poor conditions. Their landlord has refused to do repairs, raised rents indiscriminately and without warning, and engaged in harassment. They do not - and have not - felt like their family has been safe in this cycle of housing insecurity. They have not felt like their kids are safe. They're looking for more secure and safer housing in the long term.

They are a huge support to both their community and their family. We want to relieve the violence of housing instability and predatory landlordism by supporting to secure a future home. Their four kids deserve stability, comfort, and the ability to be kids -- not to worry about their landlord. We are actively looking for affordable 3+ bedroom apartments, single family homes, or space that needs renovation.

They support their family tirelessly and they are the primary source of income for her partner and four kids. This fund will support food and bills, medical needs, any future moving costs, car expenses, and other necessities. Their partner needs surgery, their kids need healthcare and to be able to see a doctor.

This fund will also fund any costs involved around pursuing home ownership: construction, renovations, or purchasing. We want to build towards them and their family having stability and self-determination. This fund will help us sustain our goals in supporting them in the long-term.

We are a group of friends and organizers in coordination with this community member directly. We are keeping their name anonymous for safety reasons.
