My brother lived a complicated, messy, very human life. He was someone who loved telling stories, meeting new people, and striking up conversations wherever he went, often leaving others laughing or shaking their heads in equal measure. He struggled for years with alcoholism, which made stability hard and it’s important to be honest about that without letting it define everything he was. He loved his daughter deeply and despite his challenges, he maintained long-standing friendships with people who stayed because they saw his humor, his loyalty, and his zest for life. His life wasn’t neat or polished, and it didn’t end with everything tied up the way anyone would hope.
Now, his wife and daughter are left navigating grief alongside very real financial needs, and that burden is heavy. This fundraiser isn’t about rewriting the past or pretending things were perfect—it’s about helping a family cover immediate expenses, create stability, and give a young child some security during an incredibly difficult time. Loss doesn’t pause bills, childcare, or daily necessities, and the reality is that support right now can make a meaningful difference.
If my brother ever made you laugh, listened to one of his stories, shared a moment with you, or if you believe that compassion matters even when lives are complicated, please consider donating or sharing. Your support goes directly toward my sister-in-law and niece move forward with a little less fear and a little more breathing room during an unimaginably hard season.
