Emergency Sleeping Bags for Alicante’s Homeless
Donation protected
Hi. I’m Jill and I live near Alicante, Spain.
As someone who has been actively involved in helping the homeless in Edinburgh, I’ve seen firsthand how much a small act of kindness can make a big difference. Now living in Alicante, I’ve witnessed how the homeless here are struggling to stay warm at night, despite the sunny days. Temperatures drop to 0 degrees in the winter, and many don’t even have basic essentials like covers or even socks.
On our last night out in Benidorm, I met a homeless man who was so cold. He didn’t even have socks and looked like he had lost all hope. I bought him a few pairs to help him get cosy, but it breaks my heart to see how many people lack the resources to protect themselves from the cold. I saw a ad today for sleeping bags that are super lights small but very effective. My first thought was to distribute them to the homeless who are freezing on our streets every night. This inspired me to take action and do more to help.
I’m raising funds to buy 20 emergency sleeping bags for the homeless in Alicante, but would love to do this in other areas too if we can. These sleeping bags will provide warmth and a bit of comfort for those enduring freezing nights on the streets. Each sleeping bag contains metallic linings to help reflect body heat. They are designed for cold weather conditions, offering a small but vital layer of protection.
How You Can Help:
Every euro donated will go directly towards purchasing these sleeping bags. Even a small contribution can make a difference in someone’s life. For the price of a cup of coffee you can change someone’s life.
• €14 euros can buy one sleeping bag and slightly less the more we buy.
• Sharing this campaign will help us reach more people who want to make an impact.
Let’s come together to show these individuals they are cared for and not forgotten. With your help, we can bring a little warmth and hope to those who need it most.
Thank you so much for your support. I will keep you updated on the progress and distribution of the sleeping bags.
