Hello Oakland community, I am writing on behalf of a family served by our school, ASCEND TK-8 in the Fruitvale. This family has two daughters, one in middle school and one in high school. I had the privilege of being their younger daughter's teacher last year.

This family has been evicted from their house in Oakland and are currently at risk of being unsheltered. The family is safe for now, but their situation is an emergency and a team at the school is currently working with them to establish next steps.

The family is currently in need of financial support to cover the cost of food and clothes for the coming weeks, since they lost almost everything in their eviction. We are also looking to support them in building up funds to put down a security deposit at a future apartment.
