My name is Devin Hall, and I am reaching out to ask for your support in assisting some of our community’s most vulnerable members. For over two weeks now, thousands of elderly, disabled, and immobile residents in Gary, Indiana, have been living without power. While a loss of electricity is an inconvenience for many, for these individuals, it is a life-threatening crisis. Without power, medical devices like oxygen concentrators and motorized wheelchairs cannot operate. Refrigerated life-saving medications, such as insulin, are spoiling. Homes are growing unsafe without climate control, and basic daily tasks have become monumental struggles.

While designated aid stations and cooling centers have been set up throughout the city, the reality is that our elderly, disabled, and immobile residents simply cannot get to them. They are stranded in their homes without transportation, mobility, or a support system to help them reach these relief sites.

Up to this point, we have been accepting personal donations every single day and immediately converting those resources into relief by delivering food, water, ice, and emergency items directly to people’s doors the moment funds come in. However, to scale these efforts and ensure complete transparency, I was asked to start this GoFundMe. Moving away from personal payment methods gives us a centralized, structured, and clear platform to manage donations as we expand our outreach.

Every dollar raised through this campaign goes directly toward immediate, doorstep aid:

Emergency Power Solutions: heavy-duty extension cords, and high-capacity portable power banks for essential medical devices, etc.

Essential Supplies: Non-perishable food items, bottled drinking water, protein shakes, electrolyte drinks, hot and frozen meals, etc.

Cleaning & Waste Management: Heavy-duty trash bags, disinfectant sprays, wipes, gloves, and cleaning supplies to assist with spoiled refrigerator cleanouts and sanitation. Roofing nails, heavy duty tarps, tools, etc.

Comfort & Hygiene: Battery-operated fans, flashlights, extra batteries, and personal care items.

Direct Door-to-Door Delivery: Delivering supplies directly to immobile individuals who cannot reach city aid stations.
