On June 30th, my mother, Sandee Deanes, suddenly collapsed outside her workplace while trying to head home early from her shift. She had been feeling nauseous, lightheaded, and short of breath — and unfortunately lost consciousness before reaching her car.
She collapsed face-first onto the hot sidewalk on one of the hottest days of the summer and was found unconscious by a kind patient who quickly called 911. Paramedics rushed her to the hospital, where doctors discovered she has a heart condition called stressed induced cardiomyopathy. She’s now on medication and wearing a heart monitor as they monitor her closely.
Because she was unconscious for over 30 minutes on the hot concrete, she suffered severe third-degree burns and is now undergoing wound care, in addition to heart treatment.
She hasn’t been able to return to work since, and her partner is working overtime just to keep up with basic household and medical expenses. Any help during this time would mean the world — all donations will go toward medical needs, wound care supplies, and household bills while she recovers. Prayers for a fast recovery ❤️
edit 8/25 :: mom is out of surgery from removing all burn scars down to the bare skin, in lots of pain like a fresh burn all over again, seems like it will be one more month out of work and hopefully a lot better ❤️
