Colectivo Poder Comuntario (CPC) esta recaudando fondos para los trabajadores.
Los mariachis que trabajan dependen del trabajo por contrato en el histórico Mariachi Plaza de Boyle Heights.
Debido a la crisis de salubridad, los músicos que trabajan han dejado de recibir ingresos para eventos laborales tanto privados como comunitarios.
Sin sus conciertos/tocadas, han sufrido una pérdida de ingresos significativa, si no total, para sus hogares y familias.
Como parte de la economía informal, estos mariachis brindan vitalidad a la comunidad y su presencia es una parte integral del tejido cultural de Boyle Heights y la comunidad mexicana de Los Ángeles.
Los invitamos a apoyar a estos talentosos músicos en este momento de crisis.
A través de su donación, podremos distribuir fondos directamente a los mariachis afectados. Estos fondos los ayudarán a pagar renta, comprar alimentos y suplementar la pérdida que parecen tener por menos tráfico peatonal o por tener que ponerlos en cuarentena en casa.
CPC es una organización creada para generar poder con los inquilinos y trabajadores de bajos ingresos a través de una organización transformadora e intersectorial para ganar justicia económica, el control comunitario de la tierra y la vivienda, y para propagar sistemas de cooperación en Boyle Heights, East LA y a través de los Ángeles.

Community Power Collective (CPC) is trying to raise funds for workers.
The working mariachi rely on work-for-hire at Boyle Heights' historic Mariachi Plaza.
Due to the current public health crisis, the working musicians have stopped receiving bookings for work events both private and community-driven.
Without their gigs, they have suffered a significant if not total loss of income for their homes and families.
As part of the informal economy, these Mariachi provide vibrance to the community and their presence is an integral part of the cultural fabric of Boyle Heights and the Mexican community of Los Angeles.
We invite you to support these gifted musicians in this time of crisis.
Through your donation, we will be able to disburse funds directly to the mariachi who are affected. These funds will help them pay rent, purchase groceries, and supplement the loss they are seeming from less foot traffic or having to be quarantined at home.
CPC is an organization created to build power with low-income tenants and workers through transformative, cross-sectoral organizing to win economic justice, community control of land and housing, and to propagate systems of cooperation in Boyle Heights, East LA, and the greater Los Angeles area.
