They fled violence. Now the only safe place they have may disappear.
PRISM Empowerment and Development Initiative Uganda (PRISM Uganda) urgently needs your support to sustain its trans-led shelter program one of the very few safe houses in Uganda for internally displaced LGBTQIA+ persons and build it’s clinic project for the trans and gender diverse people in Uganda
As attacks, arrests, and evictions escalate under Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Act, our safe house has become a lifeline. We provide emergency shelter, food, medication, and trauma-informed care to queer and trans persons who have been rejected, assaulted, or forced to flee their homes.
Right now, we are facing a crisis of funding — and without urgent help, the shelter and our clinic may be forced to shut down.
What We’re Raising:
We are seeking to raise €25000 to support:
. Clinic support for equipping ant building a full medical care center for the dolls
• Shelter rent and utilities
• Daily meals and hygiene essentials
• Medication, medical support, and mental health services
• Emergency support for high-risk individuals in hiding for atleast a few months
This shelter is more than a roof
It is a space of healing, dignity, and survival for trans and queer Ugandans.
