Emergency Funds for Chris, Sarah & Sage
Donation protected
Chris Parnell, a personal trainer, was in the best shape of his life when he woke up on 4/23 with intense ringing in his ears and bouts of vomiting. He had planned to return to training his clients on 4/25, 2 weeks after his newborn son, Sage, had been born. After being rushed to the hospital, he learned he had suffered a stroke at 31 years old.
Since his stroke, Chris has been transferred to Lenox Hill Hospital, to undergo a heart procedure to prevent blood clots from traveling through his body to his brain. Only about 10-14% of stroke sufferers are under the age of 45.
Once Chris finishes that he will transfer to a rehabilitation center to begin relearning his motor functions — specifically in the left side of his body. This is estimated to take 3-6 months until full recovery ❤️
His (wife/partner) Sarah has been at home holding down the fort. She has been taking care of Sage and their loyal dog, Flex.
As you might not know, most fitness professionals (including Chris and Sarah) are paid hourly wages based on the completion of sessions/classes. They do not have guaranteed minimum incomes, paid time off, or employer-subsidized healthcare.
Chris’ sudden illness during Sarah’s unpaid maternity leave means they are experiencing a significant income loss at a time when they have increased family/medical expenses.
Chris’ commitment to his clients is unparalleled and he’s been able to positively impact the lives of the many people that have taken his classes or invested in his solo sessions. This GoFundMe is an opportunity to give back to Chris and his family during these challenging times.
Thanks for all of your support!
