At 1:30am Saturday, my aunt, Vanita Maloney's, house burned down while she and her children were inside.

Vanita ran upstairs through the fire to get to her daughter, Amber, who was sleeping behind the flames on the top of the stairway. She was able to awaken her by running through the fire, calling out her name, and then guiding her to safety.

Vanita managed to awaken all of the other family members, enabling them to escape without losing any lives, although the entire house is lost.

I am reaching out to my network for assistance with emergency funds to get the family through this initial phase of purchasing clothes, food, and all essential items to get on their feet. They escaped with the clothes on their backs, nothing on their feet, and lost everything in the house. Their four kids ranging in ages 4-to 14 are still in shock.
