Sri Gurubhyo Namah
Dear All,
Namaskaram! We hope that you and family are safe and healthy amidst this unprecedented pandemic. Our prayerful wishes to you and your family.
As you may know, Brahmasri Nataraja Srowthigal was let go abruptly a couple of days ago from Mahwah Hindu Samaj Mandir. In these very uncertain and tumultuous times, without any alternative arrangements, it is appalling. He had just turned 50 years that week as well. With this abrupt expulsion from the temple services, Brahmasri Nataraja Srowthigal is now under distress for even a shelter, as he was asked to vacate the priest quarters within a month.
While our community is extremely shocked and upset with the temple authorities for being indifferent and missing out on the opportunity to support rare and highly learned vedic scholars like Sri. Natarajanji, we have a responsibility to step up and support him in every possible way. With consensus and support from many of his well-wishers, we have come up with this GoFundMe fundraiser to support our Brahmasri Nataraja Srowthigal and his family.
Brahmasri Nataraja Srowthigal was born in Madurai, Tamilnadu. Starting at the age of eight, he learned Samavedam from his Guru, Brahmasri K.Subramania Shastrigal at Kumbakonam Raja Vedakavya Patasala for seven years and completed Ashta Brahmanam (equivalent to Post Graduation). He then learned Srowtham (equivalent to M.Phil) and purva-apara prayogam in Samavedam and Yajurvedam under the guidance of Brahmasri V. Ramakrishna Sastrigal at Thiruvidaimarudoor. After the training, he attended several Veda paarayanams and srowtha prayogams for three years. He also did Veda paarayanam for 10 years at Kapaaleswarar Temple (Mylapore) and taught saamavedam at Sringeri Matham (Chennai), for two years. He continues the vedic teaching tradition which is a very sacred and rare opportunity for aspiring students in the USA. His accolades include appreciations and recognition from Sri Matham (Kanchipuram), Viswa Veda Sammelanam (Delhi), Vedanta Datta Peetham (Ahmednagar), Veda Sammelanam (Indore), Veda Sammelanam (Birla Mandir, Delhi), Veda Sammelanam (Sri Matham, Allahabad) and very recently from the Governor of Tamilnadu for his contributions and keeping up the vedic tradition. He speaks six languages including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, English, Hindi and Sanskrit.
Pandit Natarajanji goes above and beyond with the religious and spiritual programs in the temple(s) he has served. He seeks the grace of Ishvara to be showered on all the families in the community and to everyone in the country for peace and prosperity. He has been instrumental in starting several ceremonies at Mahwah temple, which are beyond enumeration. A couple to highlight include Ekadasa Rudra Paarayanam, Ganesh Chathurthi Utsavam, Satyanarayana Pooja, Srinivasa Kalyanam, Shatru Samhaara Subrahmanya Trishati, Navagraha Homam and Hanuman Chalisa parayanam. Many devotees have mentioned that when Pandit Natarajanji performs Ganapathi homam and Navagraha homam in their homes, all hurdles are removed and they are blessed with health, peace and prosperity. This is a testament to his scholarship and divinity.
Pandit Natarajanji has also been teaching vedam to eager sishyas. His dedication has inspired many students to start learning the vedic chanting including Samavedam, Mahanyasam, Rudram, Chamakam, and Navagraha Sooktham, and much more.
Please view this fundraising effort sympathetically and join hands to support Brahmasri Nataraja Srowthigal and his family during this difficult time. They are going through emotional distress and are in immediate need of a place to live and financial support. Your financial help either small or big would go a long way. We would like to wrap up the fundraising by the end of July 2020. Our goal is to raise as much as we can. Please help!
