Emergency Fund for Carole, Jeff, and Baby Elizabeth

Hello, my name is Sarah Pace, and I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my sister and her little family.

Carole and Jeff Gauthier welcomed a beautiful baby girl named Elizabeth into the world on August 12th. The labor was long and difficult, resulting in an unplanned cesarean procedure. Despite the challenges, Carole and Jeff took it in stride, just grateful to have their little baby girl safely in their arms. However, since that day, things have become very challenging for this beautiful family.

Since mid-August, Carole has been in and out of the hospital due to post-surgical complications. Most recently, she had to undergo emergency surgery on August 25th to have a portion of her intestine removed. This would be difficult for anyone, but for a brand new mom who just wants to hold and care for her baby? It goes without saying that this time has been incredibly hard for the Gauthier family.

Paid paternity leave is not available through Jeff’s employer, and his PTO ran out the week after baby Elizabeth was born. Medical care is expensive, and even though Jeff and Carole have health insurance, the out-of-pocket costs from frequent hospital visits and emergency surgery are significant.

The goal of this GoFundMe is to help support this small family as they navigate this extremely difficult situation while being amazing parents to their new baby girl.
