Food for Families Penzance CIC (FFFP), provides critical support to people suffering severe food insecurity in the West Penwith area, which is officially Penzance to Land's End - but we also don't turn anyone away if they are outside this area.

FFFP requires no voucher or formal referral - but it receives referrals from all public services across the area including GPs, teachers, pharmacists, social workers, health visitors and community nurses, and people also find us themselves on Facebook.

We provide emergency food parcels to anyone whose cupboards are bare - including single people, couples and families from all backgrounds who are employed and unemployed, retired, disabled, elderly and young families. Food poverty does not discriminate.

We are entirely run by volunteers and open 2-3 times a week for people to collect emergency food supplies and do emergency deliveries for those who cannot travel.

Everyone is suffering from the impact of the cost of living crisis and so food donations have dropped significantly, at the same time as demand has risen.

The priority now is to raise the funds to buy the food heading into the summer holiday season when demand rises due to kids being at home rather than school meals being provided. We supply enough rice, pasta, pasta sauce, tinned foods, cereals etc to keep the clients from going hungry for 4 days - and then they can visit again as needed. We also provide wider support, advice and signposting to other services.

Thus far in 2025, demand is at 133% of what it was in 2024 - so we need your support to ensure we can continue to meet growing demand.

There remains some stigma around food charities; an assumption that people are spending their money on non-essentials and expecting others to cover the essentials for free. This could not be further from the truth based on what we see every week with our clients. In the vast majority of situations, our clients are regular people doing their very best in what are pretty hostile times.
