The Nepalese Society of Nova Scotia, a community organization representing Nepalese people living in Nova Scotia, Canada, is coming together to raise funds for the victims of the recent devastating flash floods dated August 26,2026 in Nepal.

As members of the Nepalese Society of Nova Scotia community living in Nova Scotia, we have strong ties to Nepal, with many of us having family members and loved ones living there. We want to come together as a community to support the families affected by this disaster and contribute to the ongoing relief efforts.

100 percent of the funds raised through this GoFundMe campaign, after any applicable GoFundMe transaction fees, will be transferred directly to the Nepal Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund. The funds will support official relief and recovery efforts for flood affected communities, including emergency assistance and recovery support. Also, I wanted to share Abhilasha Niraula is the Vice President of our nonprofit organization will be withdrawing the funds and sending them to be transferred for disaster-relief purposes and ultimately contributed to the official Nepal Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund, which is established by the Government of Nepal for disaster rescue, relief, and rehabilitation.

To ensure transparency and accountability, we will provide updates to our donors through our Facebook page once the funds have been transferred.
