Rapid Relief for Displaced Families and Children

Hello, my name is Anchalee Hastings, known as Angie or angieq8 on Instagram. I'm from United Kingdom and living between UK and Kuwait. I have created this campaign to sustain our hot kitchen to feed the community in the North of Gaza. The situation is the worst it has ever been as we survive this ongoing 'war'.

In collaboration with Dr. Abdelwahab and a dedicated team of volunteers, we have been providing food for the community in the North since March 2024, striving to make a difference. Following the siege and destruction of Al Shifa, Dr. Abdelwahab felt compelled to serve as both a healer and a provider. He started a hot kitchen to feed those in need.

Our efforts started with a single water truck scheduled to deliver clean drinking water to Al Shifa Hospital. We attempted to coordinate a donation-funded soup kitchen outside the hospital when Al Shifa was raided by the Israeli Army. Dr. Abdelwahab narrowly escaped with his life. The next day, he committed to channeling his energy into feeding his community.

Since March, we have been distributing food to the community, thanks to the generous support of donors from the UK, US, Canada, the Middle East, and Singapore. Our kitchen is mobile, allowing us to reach places where others have failed to reach. We distribute food to schools and the homeless, ensuring that we can reach displaced people and provide them with the sustenance they desperately need.

We are now looking to create a sustained food service for up to 800 individuals daily. Our goals are to provide food, clean water, distribute milk formula, fresh bread, and the occasional rare treat of sweet pastries. The situation in the North is now beyond catastrophic. Dr. Abdelwahab continues daily to fulfill what he describes as his destiny: serving Gaza, his home, his heart.

About Dr Abdelwahab

Dr. Abdelwahab is one of the three surgeons remaining in the North of Gaza, where only one hospital is still functioning. With many healthcare workers having moved to Rafah, there is limited healthcare or medical supplies available to care for the wounded at Al Mamadani Hospital. Despite these challenges, Dr. Abdelwahab has vowed to stay and serve his people.

A Palestinian doctor from Gaza specializing in general surgery, Dr. Abdelwahab has been working tirelessly in four different hospitals throughout the war, moving from one to another as needed. He once owned a private clinic, but has lost everything to the war, including the complete destruction of his family home.

Gaza is in dire straits, with constant airstrikes from planes and drones, tank artillery, and gunfire. Despite the exhaustion and the overwhelming circumstances, Dr. Abdelwahab forces himself to get up and go to the hospital each morning, determined to provide care to those in need. His resilience and dedication stand as a beacon of hope amidst the atrocities this war has brought upon the people of Gaza.
