My name is Ahmed Ashour. I live and work in Canada, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my brother and his children in Gaza, who are living in unbearable conditions. A few months ago, their home was destroyed in an airstrike. Since then, they’ve been living in a tent — with no clean water, electricity, or stable food supply. The blockade has made it nearly impossible to get even the most basic necessities. Before the war, my brother made a modest living renting a few small shops in his building — now completely destroyed. With no income and no support, they’re struggling to survive, one meal at a time. For the past two years, I’ve been fully supporting them on my own — without asking anyone for help. But recently, I lost my job, and the cost of basic food in Gaza has skyrocketed. The small amounts I’m able to send barely cover food and water for even one week.
