Emergency Aid for Disabled Trans Activist in Crisis
Donation protected
My name is Axton Burton, and I am asking for urgent help to support a friend and beloved community member—an organizer, friend, and fierce advocate—who is now facing an unimaginable crisis. They are someone with a huge heart, a relentless do-er, and after a lifetime of self-reliance, they’re now leaning on the community to ask for a fraction of the support and peace of mind they’ve offered countless others in our community.
My disabled friend is navigating serious physical and mental security concerns, including a break-in and death threats. They’ve been doing everything they can to stay afloat—fighting for safety while trying to access basic needs like food, healthcare, and housing. They’ve had to put their life on hold just to survive, and right now, they urgently need help covering basic needs like rent, food, gas, and safety tools to stay alive and stable.
This person has given so much blood, sweat, time, and tears—organizing for justice, showing up for others when no one else could, building spaces of safety and joy for those who are often forgotten, and has been an incredible teacher to me personally.
We are hoping the community can show up and donate materials or funds to help raise $8,000 to:
• Cover rent and food through the summer
• Purchase Wi-Fi-enabled security cameras
• Access gas and transportation
• Offset basic costs of living and recovery
We know not everyone can give—but if you have unused gift cards to Amazon, Door Dash, Uber Eats, Target, or Walmart, those are incredibly helpful too (especially from companies being boycotted—let's turn that money into support for good). Grocery or gas cards, even if they've been sitting in your drawer, are also welcomed.
There's also a Amazon Wishlist if that is helpful.
Every donation—no matter the size—helps bring safety, dignity, and breathing room. If you're not in a place to give, please consider sharing this fundraiser with your networks. Reach out to me for an address to send it to, or coordinate with me and I can drop your item(s) off to them.
Thank you for standing with someone who has stood for so many. <3
*To protect the person’s safety, names and images are withheld by their request—but rest assured this is a real and rising urgent need, personally verified. I don’t want to see my friend hurting or clawing at the bare minimum.
