Our story… We are a close knit gym group who are like-minded when it comes to fitness, fun and embracing new challenges. The idea came round to do the National Three Peaks Challenge, Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowden in 24 Hours.
As two of our little unit have had parents affected by cancer we decided we could also raise funds for a local and excellent charity called FireFly.
If you haven’t heard of FireFly, they are a local charity based in Doncaster providing free transport and support for local cancer patients to regional treatment hospitals. They have an express fleet run by a fantastic team of volunteer drivers.
Our plan is to start scaling Ben Nevis at 7am on the 19th July 2025, then at 6pm start the ascent of Scafell Pike and aim to Celebrate finishing mount Snowden at 7am 20th July 2025, hopefully with minimal blisters and injuries! All the team have fully funded the trip themselves and 100% of all sponsorship/donation money will go to FireFly.
Meet the team
Nathan, Hannah, Kirsty, Barry, Chris, Millie, Sam, Cat, Keedy, Pat and Ian
As a show of unity in this challenge we have used the letters in our names to create an anagram for our team name.
‘Embarking Chimps’
Which is quite fitting to describe our team. 11 infantile monkeys setting off for an adventure, showing unity and solidarity spurring each other on to put our bodies through an immense feat.
I hope you all wish us well on our journey and any sponsorship would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks Embarking Chimps
