Donation protected
Ten years ago, our sister Sara went on Shlichus (as a Chabad emissary) to Tampa, Florida. She has been stuck there for the past two years because, after separating, her ex with the active help of his parents, refused to go to Beis Din to deal with the issues, including custody. As a direct result, her ex was removed from the list of Shluchim.
Our sister is thus trapped in Tampa, unable to continue working in chinuch, isolated, without an adequate income, with no friends, family, or community. She doesn't have a shul to go to. Even though she now has a get, if Sara were to leave Tampa without her ex’s permission, she would have to leave her children behind.
Sara is only allowed to move a short distance from where the shared family home was and still maintain custody. Her ex-husband and ex in-laws have been approached several times with proposals for her to move within Florida to a community that is just over an hour away, but they have continued to refuse. If she were to move to this community, she would have a shul to go to, an opportunity to work in chinuch and most importantly, be able move on with her life.
All of the many Rabbonim consulted, have said that what her ex and his parents are doing is unacceptable.
All the money raised will be going towards a campaign to help allow Sara to leave Tampa. One hundred percent of all donations will be used to bring awareness to this important cause.
We will not stop until our sister Sara is free.
