On the evening of October 23rd, tragedy struck the Simmons family when their home was completely destroyed in a sudden fire. In just moments, everything they owned was gone — their home, their belongings, and years of memories. Thankfully, Frank and Jonie Simmons and their children Shelby Donaldson (13) and Little Frank “Bubba” (8) made it out safely, but they are now faced with the heartbreaking reality of starting over from nothing.
Frank and Jonie are both proud members of the Freeport community, dedicating their time and hearts to Freeport High School, where they work hard to support local students and families every day. Now, it’s our turn to support them.
The family lost all of their clothing, furniture, school supplies, and personal belongings in the fire. As they search for temporary housing and try to replace essentials, they need our help more than ever — especially with Shelby and Bubba needing clothes, shoes, and school items to return to some sense of normalcy.
Your donations will help cover:
• Clothing and school supplies for Shelby and Bubba
• Temporary housing and daily essentials
• Furniture and household items when they find a new place
• Long-term rebuilding and recovery costs
Frank and Jonie have always given back to others — through their work, kindness, and care for Freeport’s students and families. Now, the community they’ve served so selflessly has the chance to rally around them.
Any donation, no matter the amount, will make a difference. If you can’t give financially, please consider sharing this page and keeping the Simmons family in your thoughts and prayers.
