As most of you know, I (Emily) was diagnosed with endometrial cancer in 2004. This caused me to have a hysterectomy in 2006 taking away all chances at having a child of my own. This was, and still is, very hard on me emotionally. I never really considered adoption as an option since I thought I could not afford to go through the process. I have luckily found an agency called Independent Adoption Center that bases their fees on a sliding scale based on one's income. For the first time in my life, I have hope that one day I will get to be a mother. While the fees are still very high, they are about half what other agencies charge. 
Katie and I have built a wonderful life together. She's the best partner a girl could ask for. She supports me and she cannot wait to see me as our child's mother. We both have great jobs,  college degrees, a nice place to live, and most of all we are ready to have our own family. We have a lot of love to give!  Katie raised a wonderful, respectful son who has given her 2 beautiful grandchildren. She loves those babies to the moon and back. She's ready to take on the role of mom once again! 
I ask you, our family, friends, classmates,  and co-workers to help us reach our goal. This goal will help with agency fees, and travel to meet and bring home our baby! 

Please, if you are a mother or a father, you know the joy your child or children bring to you! Please don't let cancer take that joy from me! Please find it in your hearts to help us. We will forever be in your debt.
