If you have ever visited our facility at Elstow, you’ll know that our current two-lane net facility, built in 2009, is now in urgent need of replacement. In the past 15 years our Club has grown from one junior team to nine and with our ECB All Stars programme, we now provide cricket to over 100 children. Our nets are heavily used by both members and the wider community and with no other local facilities available, accessible, high-quality nets are essential.
The new three-lane net facility will be built to ECB standards and will significantly improve training for juniors, adults and our growing women’s and girls’ section. It will support female-focused coaching in line with ECB and Sport England priorities, strengthen our senior teams and remain available for community use. As the Club has also become a community hub—open most summer evenings and weekends—the new nets will benefit far more than just our playing members.
The total cost of the project is £65,000, and we are delighted to have already secured most of the funding, including a £7,500 Sport England grant. To unlock this grant, we must raise £7,500 in matched funding. While we ultimately need a little more than this, £7,500 is our initial target.
We are planning to build the new nets this summer, so donations are needed urgently. Please consider contributing and helping us reach our target by the end of March 2026.
