Elspeth's Costa Rica Volunteering
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Elspeth and I'm raising money to support the fantastic work of Camps International, a global social enterprise supporting communities across the world. Camps International run school expeditions with impact and in 2026 I'm hoping to join them on a four week expedition to Costa Rica to build a SEND School supporting rural children; complete a SCUBA diving and Marine Conservation project; and participate in a biodiversity initiative.
Ever since I was four years old, I have been fascinated by the shallow coral reefs and the depths of the high seas. Watching Kwazi jet about in the Gup B unleashed my passion for marine life and David Attenborough's fantastic narration of Blue Planet II inspired me to become involved in marine conservation efforts since a very young age. It was then that I knew that I wanted to make a positive contribution to our planet and the people who live in it.
Volunteering with Camps International in Costa Rica will not only help me realise this dream but contribute to the tremendous impact this social enterprise makes to community, wildlife and environmental projects. They have completed over 390 transformative projects; positively impacted the lives of more than 100,000 people worldwide; and worked with communities to build and employ locally 365 days a year every year.
Supporting my fundraiser, means that you will be contributing towards worldwide change for the better as well as bringing my childhood dream to life. I have ambitions to be the first in my family to go to University and study Marine Biology. The opportunity to participate in something like this could dramatically improve my chances of achieving this goal. And not only that, I want to make sure everybody can access opportunities like this and once I reach my initial goal of £5,500, I'm aiming to fundraise for a second place.
Thank you for viewing my page, if you want to make change please donate.
