Elsie's Top Five - Life After Leukemia

Our world was turned upside down in January 2023 when our beautiful Elsie was diagnosed with Leukemia and admitted to Leeds Children's Hospital.

Elsie has responded well to chemotherapy treatment and we have every reason to hope that she will make a full recovery and be out the other side of all this as soon as she can. But she's got a long way to go...

Chemotherapy for childhood Leukemia involves a minimum treatment of 2 years. So, although she's now back at home with her little sister (and best mate), she's having to go into hospital every week for her treatment and she's feeling too poorly to do any of her normal activities.

Elsie's only 8 years old - she wants to be 'out there' doing exciting things! She misses her gymnastics, going to Cub Scouts and her learning and friends at Hebden Bridge Learning Community.

We realise what an amazing family and network of friends we have - so many people have reached out to us. We've set up this Go Fund Me as so many folks have suggested it as a way for people to help in some way.

We will also make a 25% contribution from this fund to the amazing 'Candlelighters' - a charity based in Leeds who support every family affected by childhood cancer across Yorkshire as they've been a fantastic help. This charity provided a beautiful house for us to stay in right next to the hospital so that we could stay together as a family by Elsie's side in hospital and Alice could visit her sister - this really helped at the most difficult times.

So a BIG Thank You to everyone who donates - every little will help. This page will also give Elsie a big positive boost to know that she's got lots of people behind her and some fun planned!
