Wirral Walk for Elsie’s Moon - Sunday 6th July
Walking with tired legs and a full heart
Hi, I’m Lindsey - Elsie’s very proud mum.
Our beautiful girl Elsie was born on the 3rd of August and heartbreakingly passed away the next day, on the 4th. She made me a Mummy, and she changed our world completely in those tiny days, and when we were thrown into the world of baby loss, we quickly realised there wasn’t enough out there for families like ours.
So, in true event manager-mum style, we set up our own charity - Elsie’s Moon. It’s been almost 7 years now, and in that time we’ve supported hundreds of families through the sadness and heartbreak of grief. We’ve created safe spaces, real conversations, and a little bit of love in the dark.
But here's the thing… funding a small, heartfelt, grassroots charity is HARD. Like, really hard. And while we’re powered by love (and strong yorkshire cups of tea), we still need pennies to keep doing what we do - and hopefully to do even more.
So on Sunday 6th July, I’m doing the Wirral Walk.
Yes. Me. Walking. On purpose. A long way.
And let me tell you, aside from running around after Elsie’s three wild little rainbow brothers, I’ve never walked this kind of distance - unless there was a chocolate reward at the end.
But I’m doing it for Elsie. For the families we support. And for the belief that no one should go through baby loss alone.
I know Elsie will be with me every step of the way, probably laughing at my ridiculous footwear choices and cheering me on in her own little way. After everything we’ve faced as a family, and the families walking with us have been through, this walk will be nothing.
If you’re able to donate, even the price of a coffee, I’d be so grateful. Every single pound goes straight back into the charity and helps us support other families with love, care, and maybe the occasional honest rant in a safe space.
Thank you so much for reading. Thank you even more if you donate. And wish my feet luck – they’re going to need it.
Lindsey x
(and Elsie, always)
