Ellis’s fight against Aplastic Anaemia
Donation protected
Hi this is my Grandson Ellis. He has a very rare and serious life threatening condition called Aplastic Anaemia This is where the bone marrow has failed leaving him susceptible to serious infections, bleeding and bruising. He is dependent on blood transfusions and currently fighting a nasty infection.
Ellis will be starting his transplant journey on 10th April where he will undergo a week of strong chemotherapy and immunosuppressants before being given his bone marrow transplant which will be donated by his amazing Sister Summer who is currently studying for her GCSEs in May. Ellis has spent most of his time in hospital since January due to temp spikes and transfusions and will be in an isolation ward for at least 3 months after transplant. He will miss out at least a whole year of his childhood, not going to school and seeing his friends. No family holidays either and not being able to mix until his immune system starts to improve. I am raising money for Ellis and his family so when the time is right they can go to Port Lympne Safari Reserve and Hotel for an unforgettable safari experience, which has always been Ellis’s dream. Staying in a unique Treehouse surrounded by wildlife as Ellis absolutely loves animals and this is something he has always wanted to do. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
