Elliot needs a bed
This is Elliot, he is 5 and he loves, his Lion and
Donkey, very big cars and a random cushion known as Doccy.
He also has Pallister Killian Syndrome, an
extremely rare genetic disease that has lifelong
consequences and means he has additional needs
that impact his daily life in a big way.
He has an amazing mummy and daddy and they
love him to pieces alongside his little brother
Wilfred.
They strive everyday to introduce him to new
challenges in an attempt to push forward his
development as much as possible to give him every chance in life at achieving his full potential,
whatever that may be!
We are so proud of Emma and Marcus and most of all Elliot, he is adorable, funny, sweet, loving,
cuddly and we couldn’t imagine life without him.
now to the point of all this soppiness....a bed!
A simple piece of furniture that we all take for
granted. Elliot has outgrown his cot and needs
a bed. Because he already has early signs of
epilepsy and this is likely to progress given what
we know about his syndrome, Elliot needs
somewhere safe and secure to sleep at night.
Easily accessible, sturdy, able to cope with
potential escape artist tendencies......
Also....and this is extremely important, it needs
to look like a BED, a little boys bed that can be
a junglefort or space rocket or a pirate ship. Not a hospital grade, metal and Perspex monstrosity
that is an unhelpful reminder of what makes Elliot different rather than what makes him so special.
Emma and Marcus have searched high and low andalong with uncle John have spoken to carpenters,
drawn plans and thought about every conceivable
safety issue.
Then Emma came across Oliver’s bed on
Facebook, the perfect solution except for the price tag,
a whopping £4000!!
This seems to be the best option for Elliot but
I don’t think it’s fair that Emma and Marcus should forgo special holidays and events with their boys in
order to pay for a bed.
Thats why I’m asking you all for some help.
Anything would be appreciated and I can promise you that a little boy will send you all his love and
thanks once he’s tucked up in his very special bed
that’s as unique as he is.
