Elliot Cayde Memorial Donation for the Children’s Hospital

Hello, my name is Stacee. In 2019, my 1 year old son was diagnosed with cancer. He was a little over a year into treatment when the cancer returned. We lost him in 2021.

When Elliot passed away, I was left with a deep need to find a way to honour him, to remember him - to have something “good” come from his death.

Unfortunately, my grief and cPTSD prevented me from doing anything like this in previous years. This year, I finally feel ready, but I would love some help.

We would like to raise money in honour of Elliot’s birthday for CK5 and PICU at the Children’s Hospital and for CancerCare Manitoba. They each played a role in Elliot’s care and provided support and resources to Brian, Dylan and I during his treatment.

The money raised will go to the Child Life department at the Children’s Hospital where it will be divided between CK5, PICU and CancerCare MB. My hope is that it will help children like Elliot and families like ours, because despite what we all had to endure, the Child Life department, the nurses and other staff all did their best to give our family opportunities for fun. I am so grateful for the memories we were able to create because of them.

We miss Elliot everyday. It would mean so much to me to finally be able to do something in his name.
