Hello! My name is Ella Rohdieck and I am a Life Scout in BSA Troop 138G. I am a founding member of my all female troop in Paramus, New Jersey. I am working on my Eagle Scout Project, which is one of the final steps to completing the Eagle Scout rank. Scouting is one of the most important parts of my life, and the biggest goal of achieving the Eagle Scout rank is almost complete.

My father is a United States Marine Corps Veteran, so I knew immediately that my project would benefit the Veterans within my community. I have chose to partner with The Paramus Memorial Veterans Home for my Eagle Scout project, and after months of meeting and emailing, we landed on the perfect project. I will be installing a koi pond in the Memory Care Unit, to provide a calming, peaceful space for the Veterans and their families. As well as the pond, the flat grassy space will be transformed into a paved area with plants and benches. The pond will have a waterfall feature and stones with each branch of military printed onto them. I am so excited and grateful to have the opportunity to help and benefit those who have served in my community.

To accomplish this project, I am organizing and leading the work project in late September to early October. Many of my fellow Scouts, friends and family will assist me in completing this project. This is going to be a lot of hard work, but I am so excited to give back to the Veteran community and have this experience!

All funds and support for this project will be greatly appreciated. All donations will go directly to completing the project, and any remaining funds will go to maintaining the pond area.
