On Friday 5th September the Elite Metal Group will be hosting a Charity Shoot Day. We’ve proudly chosen to support the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust (KBRT), as they work tirelessly to alleviate the financial hardship of bereaved families repatriating the body (bodies) of loved one(s) who have died abroad in sudden or tragic circumstances back to Ireland.

This is a charity that means a great deal to our COO Trisha Molloy. In 2022 the charity repatriated Trisha’s cousin John home from New York, something the entire family remains eternally grateful for.

Trisha writes "On the 26th November 2022, we lost John, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Although John was sick, his death came to us as an unexpected shock. At the time, he was living in New York with his wife Dolores, his beautiful baby daughter Sophia and his stepson Adriel. During John’s last days and even hours, many of us tried to make the journey from Galway and Kerry to New York, to say our goodbyes, unfortunately we didn’t all make it, a profound pain we live with every day.

When John passed, Dolores made the decision that she wanted John to return home to Ireland to be buried, allowing his family the time to say goodbye and allowing him to return to the place he loved so deeply. As I’m sure with many other families, we never expected we would have to repatriate a family member home. That’s when the questions started “how do we do this?” and “who do we call?” questions, without the help of KBRT, I still don’t know the answer to. My brother Michael, having known Kevin Bell, called Colin (Kevin’s Father) to ask for advise and help. Colin and KBRT took care of everything, allowing our family time to prepare and grieve. John arrived home in Galway, on the 2nd of December, the day before what would have been his 37th Birthday.

No matter how hard we try, there will never be enough words to describe our thanks to KBRT. Their knowledge and professionalism allowed John’s parents, his brothers and the rest of John's family and friends the opportunity to hold him and say goodbye, one last time. We will remain eternally grateful."
