My name is Elisa Mejia.

I am a mother of 4 and I'm the main caretaker of my family.

Last week, I got a strong pain in my stomach which landed me at Parkland Hospital Emergency Room. I was admitted with an infected gallbladder that had to be surgically removed. Surgery was successful, with me being in the hospital for a week total.

This leads me to not having been able to work for that week while I was in the hospital, and the aftercare of this surgery has me on bed rest and not able to work for about a month.

Bills, including water, gas, electricity, food, and rent, are piling up, and I need help in order to make ends meet while I am in recovery.

Furthermore, our only vehicle of transportation, which our family has had for the last 10 years, stopped working shortly before I was admitted to the hospital. This has affected us greatly as this is the only vehicle of transportation we have, and we need to take it to a mechanic and try to find the cause of the issue.

To sum up, I am asking for assistance during this difficult time in our household. Any contribution will help greatly and will serve to help us survive while I physically recover.
