Dearest friends and family of Elisa and Seth,

Some transitions in life call for intentional support from and rallying of community, and a few of the most significant are pregnancy, birth, and parenting. All human traditions include the recognition that support during this time in people’s lives is vital to maintaining the health and longevity of a community and the future of its members. Elisa and Seth are so excited to be in the midst of this super special time and are extra blessed to be expecting twins! Double the happiness, double the need for community support as these two little spirits invite their community to circle around this family during such momentous change.

Part of this invitation has included the need for Elisa to stop working during a challenging first stage of pregnancy and continue with a significantly reduced workload for the remainder. This is the ancient wisdom of our bodies and babies making room for new life. This has also shown up in the need for specialized prenatal and postpartum care (paid out-of-pocket) and paid support for helping care for two babies for the early months postpartum.

Elisa and Seth are happily sourcing baby basics with generous hand-me-downs from friends and the Bay Area’s wealth of second-hand options. However, the realities of the cost of living in the Bay Area combined with reduced income and increased expenses mean they are doing what families have done since the beginning of human history – they are turning to their community for support as they prepare to welcome their babies Earth-side.

To support their needs for the remainder of the pregnancy, $9,000 is needed. For the first year postpartum, their estimated needs are an additional $19,000 to enable Elisa to be home with the babies in the early months and to receive some very part-time support in the first year. Any amount that you can offer to contribute to meeting these goals would be a tremendous help and deeply appreciated.
