Elin and Alice Accessible Summer Activities

We are Elin, a girl with quadriplegic cerebral palsy and complex needs, and Alice, and we are fundraising to be able to do fun. accessible things together this summer.

We love going out to do things together but we need to raise funds not just for entry fees and travel costs but to be able to pay for Elin to have a carer with her at all times to help her get the most out of the day as well as manage her feeding, and physical and medical needs.

We have a long bucket list of places we hope to be able to go to, such as London Aquarium, which is one of Elin's favourite places, Whipsnade Zoo, The Hub in Northampton, and even a circus.

These are all long days out, especially for Elin who cannot enjoy these experiences without a lot of additional support and facilities. Elin needs constant one-to-one care, and access to adult changing facilities. She always has to carry a lot of equipment and medications with her, and have someone who has her as their sole focus.

Alice is an amazing sibling carer but she too needs attention and focus, and to feel like she is able to let her hair down and be a typical, carefree girl from time to time. Recently the council slashed Elin's carer budget to a fraction of what it used to be and if we stay within the existing budget we will not leave the house the whole summer. A large part of the funds we raise will help to pay for Elin to bring an experienced carer with her to ensure her needs are met.

Please help us raise funds to make this a summer to remember for all the right reasons, and to make memories that will last a lifetime. We have set a lofty target as the more we raise the more we will be able to do. And anything we don't use over the summer holiday we will carry over to activities throughout autumn.
