Dear family, friends, and compassionate members of our community, We are heartbroken to share that our sweet 2-year-old boy, Elijah Monsalvo, has been diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APL) — a rare and aggressive form of blood cancer.

Elijah is currently in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit where he is undergoing critical care and beginning intense treatment to save his life.

APL is a medical emergency. Elijah's platelet levels dropped dangerously low, causing internal bleeding, bruising, and extreme fatigue. He has already undergone multiple blood and platelet transfusions and has started a very aggressive chemotherapy protocol. His treatment will require several months in the hospital, followed by a long and difficult recovery process.

Due to the severity of his condition and the level of care he needs, both his mom and dad must take time off from work to be by his side full-time. As you can imagine, the emotional toll is overwhelming—and the financial burden is quickly becoming unmanageable.
