ELIAS the Lincoln Heights FruitMan NEEDS NEW CART

Hi friends,

This is a fundraiser for Elias and his Fruit cart. He is the beloved Fruit man of Lincoln Heights (Ave 21 & Ave 26) for decades. He was a fixure out front of St Vincent and now is outside Rite Aid at workman/ 26. We've known Elias for about 13 years now and he works every day all day feeding our community rain or shine. Feeding the st vincent and goodwill employees, and getting the kids their fruit.

Last week Elias was rolling his Fruit Cart into the back of his pickup truck and the cart rolled back down and smashed on his shoulder- cracking and shattering the Plastic top of the fruit cart. He is still using this cart, but the ice melts and turns to water and runs out the side. The bees can get in and It's something that needs a full replacement. You can't just caulk it back together. He uses a wooden ramp to roll the cart into the truck and this thing is heavy he hurt himself too when the thing rolled back and crashed into him.

We got a quote for a new top and it's about the same price as a new cart at about $1,000. The top is a bent acrylic shell with little access door that custom fits the stainless steel bottom of the cart. The money would go towards a brand new cart . The exact same cart he has since he likes this cart with the classic quilted chrome bottom.
