Electric Palace - Sponsored Street Tag Marathon
The Electric Palace Cinema in Harwich is one of the oldest purpose-built cinemas to survive complete with its silent screen, original projection room and ornamental frontage still relatively intact.
Built in 1911, 'The Palace' is an important part of Harwich's rich history.
'The Palace' is a charity, run by a trust, and needs our help.
Their core aim is to raise £70,000 of funding to be used on upgrading equipment, creating sustainable fundraising activities, and raise awareness of the cinema and the trust.
The Electric Palace is a place that is very special, and a huge part of Harwich history.
I want to help make it part of Harwich future too..
On Friday 30th August, I will be embarking on a 12 hour Street Tag Marathon, to help towards this target.
We will start at 7.10am at the Harwich & Dovercourt Hub, and head out around Harwich for a giant game of Street Tag, finishing at 19.11 (The cinema opened in 1911) at The Electric Palace.
Every donation will help keep this amazing part of our community going. We welcome donations from individuals, groups and businesses alike.
We will be visiting lots of harwich landmarks along the way, collecting lots of Street Tag points, and may even pop along to see a few of our contributors for a picture or two....
Please donate, share our fundraiser with everybody you know, and feel free to come and join us along the way.
Further details of routes and planned stops will be added soon.
Thank you
