I'm so proud to have been chosen to stand to become a Labour Councillor once again. This time I have had the incredible opportunity to stand in my own local area of East Ecclesfield.

On May 2nd 2019 I am hoping to be elected back onto Sheffield City Council:- and I need your help to fund my campaign.

I will work hard to provide a strong local voice for the people I represent. My only other job is dad to the four children I have adopted with my partner, who is a teacher. 

Being a full time local councillor means I will be active day in, day out, getting stuck in to local issues, and getting into the Town Hall to lobby for changes people need.

Working with local projects and community groups is one of my favourite parts of the role- I can't wait to support the hard working volunteers in the coffee mornings, Friends of the parks and 'in bloom' groups, the Tenants and Residents Associations.

In my previous spell as a councillor, I campaigned successfully for speed limit reductions on local roads, even when people said it could never be done. I spearheaded the council's policy of campaigning against school funding cuts, and campaigned locally to save the NHS walk in centre and minor injuries unit.

I made speeches at council meetings on the rise in hate crime in the wake of brexit, saving local pubs, becoming a fossil free city and fossil fuel divestment, road safety, and keeping the local WW1 Memorial Trees.

As political representatives we can't always achieve everything our constituents want, but I will tirelessly put forward the views of my constituents and ask difficult questions on their behalf. 

Being in touch with local people is something I'm very proud of. As well as attending community meetings and events, I will send out a regular newsletter, and with the help of local volunteers, carry out roving 'street surgeries' where,  run street stalls and knock on doors to find out the concerns of local people. I will make myself known on local facebook campaigns and groups so I can listen to people's concerns and opinions.

I'm proud to be a member of both the Labour & Co-operative parties. Labour, because I believe in a city, and a society, which looks after the needs of the many not just a tiny elite.  Co-operative, because I believe in people before profit.

Your kind donation, however small, will help me increase the number of people I can contact, let people know about the work i've done, and make sure I can continue to do so for another term of office. It will also mean a lot to me personally to have your support.

Local Labour campaigns are powered by our party members who give up ther time to volunteer. Your donations will go direct to the East Ecclesfield branch of the Labour Party to pay for the materials our local campaigners need, like surveys, newsletters and leaflets.
