NO WARRIORS FORGOTTEN!

PLEASE support the International Leonard Peltier Defense Committee Delegation of board members to the 17th Session of United Nations Forum on Indigenous Issues in April 2018.  The board members will reignite support and create new ALLIES in our fight for justice and freedom! Leonard Peltier, 73 years old, is a political prisoner who suffers tremendous PAIN inside the prison! He NEEDS YOUR HELP!!

Leonard Peltier said: “The FBI files are full of information that proves my innocence, yet many of those files are still being withheld from my legal team. During my appeal before the 8th Circuit, the former Prosecuting Attorney Lynn Crooks said to Judge Heaney, ‘Your honor, we do not know who killed our agents. Further, we don’t know what participation, if any, Mr. Peltier had in it’. That statement alone exonerates me and I should have been released, but here I sit, 43 years later still struggling for my Freedom! I have pleaded my innocence for so long now, in so many courts of law, in so many public statements issued through the International Leonard Peltier Defense Committee, that I will not argue it here. But I will say again, I DID NOT KILL THOSE AGENTS!”

GENOCIDAL BATTLES against Indigenous Nations are ravaging communities everywhere! For generations, attacks on our SOVEREIGNTY has been enacted through U.S. Policy started at first contact and CONTINUES today!   Leonard Peltier’s incarceration is a continuation of these Genocidal Attacks on Indigenous Nations of Turtle Island.  Leonard’s case has documented violations in many areas including Treaty Law, Human Rights, International, and Constitutional laws.  The disrespect and inhuman treatment of an elder must be addressed by the Indigenous Communities Worldwide!

In South Dakota, the 7 Nations of the Oceti Sakowin signed the 1868 Ft. Laramie Treaty with the United States Government. Through this “Nation to Nation” agreement the Oglala Lakota Nation aka (Pine Ridge Indian reservation) has different laws outlined in the Treaty. In 1975 on the Pine Ridge reservation, the Oglala Firefight was a continuation of the “Reign Of Terror” initiated against members of the American Indian Movement (AIM), and traditional people by the U.S. Government called COINTELPRO.  Treaty law defined by the U.S. Constitution are “treaties are the supreme law of the land.” According to the Major Crimes Act, the Federal Bureau Investigation (FBI) was in violation of being on the reservation the day of Oglala Shoot-out.

Leonard Peltier has been in PRISON for over 43 YEARS.  With "good time" he's served over 62 years behind bars. He is an ELDER with numerous health problems; in the summer of 2017 had triple bypass heart surgery. He was diagnosed two and a half years ago with a Prostate problem, the doctor told him he needed surgery, but the Warden of Coleman Federal Prison in Florida has not allowed the surgery. In January 2016, Leonard was diagnosed with an aortic abdominal aneurysm; on his last health check it was 4.7 cm in size and will be operable after it is 5 cm in size. So why is he still in a maximum prison at his age and poor health?  He has served more than 4 life sentences according to 1976 laws that were in place when Leonard Peltier was sentenced?

The list of Constitutional Violations committed against Leonard Peltier is long proving his continued illegal imprisonment. For a list of the violations please click the link; https://www.whoisleonardpeltier.info/download/ConstitutionalViolations.pdf

Please HELP us not only with monetary contributions but also through Prayers!  Time for Leonard to HUG and Spend time with his Tiospaye (family) and community!!
