Help us provide food and everyday items to seniors in need in Garfield Park!
My name is Tajuana Savage and my business partner Jamy and I own and operate a growing catering business working out of The Hatchery Chicago, a nonprofit incubator kitchen in East Garfield Park. Over the past few months, we have donated hundreds of meals to frontline healthcare workers.
Now, in addition to frontline workers, we are dedicating ourselves to donating food and essential items to the elders in our community.
Due to recent protests, many of the few grocery stores and convenience stores on the West Side have closed their doors, leaving our seniors without a way to access food safely and close to home - and they are unable to travel safely to other neighborhoods due to the threat of COVID-19.
I care for my 85-year-old grandmother every day, but I know that many elders aren’t lucky enough to have family and support nearby. We are here to help by bringing nutritious, delicious, prepared meals to our seniors, and making sure they are cared for and not forgotten during this crisis.
All donations will go directly to providing seniors with meals and supplies. Even a few dollars will help us carry out this important mission! If you’re unable to donate, you can help by sharing this post with your friends and neighbors.
We will get through this tough time together - thank you for your support!
Checks & Money orders can be sent or dropped off to The Hatchery Chicago Attn to CTRL Kitchen 135 N Kedzie Ave Chicago, IL 60612
