My name is Kelly and I am fundraising for a senior woman living in Los Angeles county (Hacienda Heights) who goes by the name of Mrs. Lee. She has a heartbreaking story about how she was conned of her entire life savings she had saved for her retirement and kids.

Mrs. Lee is a senior who currently resides in an apartment where she subleases the rooms to others to get by since she has lost her savings. She currently sleeps in the living room of the unit due to needing her sublease tenants to pay for the cost of the rent of the apartment.

She was frauded of her life savings when she received phone calls claiming to represent authorities of the Chinese government who threatened to send international agents to imprison and seize her assets, even though she currently resides in the US as a lawful citizen. They were able to use scare tactics to compel her to send international wires and threatened her if she were to contact any local authorities for help.

After informing her family members, they criticized her for being naive and have since lost contact with her as they have become upset and unsupportive since the incident. She then experienced several months of severe depression where she even was hospitalized for 2 months due to her mental and health condition.

When we went to visit and find out about her story, she stated that she was "so depressed that she contemplated suicide and felt like her world had ended." With our efforts we were able to console her and gave her "hope in humanity," and she expressed her gratitude that there were such compassionate people still in this world.

With your help, we hope to provide some financial relief to assist this elderly woman who reminds us of a lovable and kind grandma that we grow up with. We feel the excruciating pain this experience has caused her and hope that with your contributions we can see her happy once again.
