Elderly Poverty: Help our Grandparents

Help! In December, my parents will have their electricity cut off.

My name is Timea, and I am the daughter of Tihamer and Ida. I am collecting donations for my parents who suffer from elderly poverty and can no longer afford to pay their electricity bills.

My parents need every bit of help to make ends meet. At the age of 78, my father still has to work as a hairdresser to afford the most basic groceries for himself and his wife. My mother, Ida, suffers from dementia, and it has reached a point where she requires round-the-clock care. In addition to their financial hardships and difficult situation, it has happened that, while my father was at work, their kitchen burned down. Luckily nobody was injured, but Tihamer himself is no longer able to provide his Ida with the care she needs. My siblings and I have found an assisted living facility for them, but the waiting list is six months long.

There is not enough support from the government, and they can no longer afford warm meals or doctor visits with their income. As a family, we are now on our own. My two brothers and I have already exhausted our resources, but unfortunately, it is not enough. Therefore, we have reached the point where we are seeking help from you!

Help us support Tihamer and Ida so that they don't have to freeze and go hungry in winter. Any additional assistance until they can be admitted to assisted living will greatly help our family.
